For many people, a home is their principal financial asset. For others, homeownership seems out of reach. Through its Center for Home Ownership (CHO) program, Financial Pathways helps people achieve the homeownership dream. Trained and certified housing and financial counselors guide new and prospective homeowners through the steps of finding a home, securing a mortgage, and navigating the opportunities and pitfalls of homeownership.

CHO is a collaborative effort of local government and nonprofit agencies, lenders, realtors, insurance providers, and community members, who each make their advice and support available to CHO and its clients. The center is approved as a housing counseling agency by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) and recognized by the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency and local housing providers.
